Specifically, they need to learn that in order to engender employee loyalty, they actually need to give back to the employee something for their work.
Take this all as you will; grain of salt, face value. Here are the relavent facts as I can see them:
I joined the Intersteller Wal-Mart corporation because my old five-man corp picked fights it coulden't win, and was getting me killed. I was told that I would be safe in their alliance, and that I could make a crapload of ISK by mining for them, working on their starbase.
I haven't seen a red ISK yet. In light of that, and given that I generally hate EvE, more or less because of the treatment at their hands, I sought to recompensate my losses. First I as a matter of course cleaned out the humdrum junk in their hangar arrays. Lost it all to a gate camp, but oh well. Secondly I tried to sell them out to the people on their enemies list, but was majorly lost in doing so. Thirdly, and perhaps in a move that should have been done secondly, I attempted to extract hush-money from the corp. I wasen't asking much, but I did make it clear that I would be doing this if they did not pay. (The reason for the hush-money, you see, is because a foolish friend of mine has become addicted to EvE, and I figured I'd help him out.) Fourthly, I finally managed to contact a member of the corp my alliance is at war with, but the member of the SMASH alliance that I could reach wasen't buying. Megasaxon, this info could have been yours, but you foolishly chose to tell me I was full of it.
So, here's the deal. The alliance starbase is being built under a stealth approach. Specifically, the only people who work on it are members of the Interstellar Wal-Mart Corporation; any resources aquired by the other alliance members for the project get taken to the alliance by Instersteller Wal-Mart Corp members. The project is made to look as if it is only the IWC working on it, but it is in fact the alliance's baby. They have, at least until now, kept their big guns away from it. The following information will likely become out of date quickly, so give them hell while you can.
Their starbase is in Y8R-XZ. I'm sure I don't have to tell anybody that it's about 20 AU from any landmark, so you'll have to use probes to find it. It's protected by a Caldari Control Tower, within which are twelve cruise missile towers, in four clusters of three. Each cruise missile tower cluster is in turn protected by a trio of Medium Laser Towers.
Only roughly half the defenses are operational at any given time. Six or seven of the cruise missile towers are active, and only one laser tower in any given cluster. For manned defenses, the site has on-hand a variety of Caldari and Amarr cruisers, fit with T1 unnamed fittings, set up with cruise missiles to augment the towers.
The starbase has so far relied solely on stealth to survive. By looking undermanner and under-funded for an alliance project, and by keeping their dreadnaughts strictly away from the site, they hoped to stay under the radar. None of the SNU's big guns are capable of getting to the location with any real speed; the heaviest defense you could realistically encounter is battleships flown by IWC members.
Why did I do this? Because you never gave me a cut. You treated me like a mining drone with a barge. Supplying strip miners and a barge does not make up for the fact that you turned my entire EvE experiance into an excercise in the wild life of a mining-barge-pusher.
And so, to the members of IWC, I wish you a safe and productive day, with the caveat that they become far fewer in the immideate future. To SMASH Alliance, or anyone looking to grind or swing the axe, happy hunting. Give 'em hell for me, I hope you have more fun with EvE than I do.
To anyone thinking about hurting me, don't bother. This is the last thing I'll ever do that touches EvE. That's it, I'm gone. Adios, happy trails. Unless you're IWC, in which case may your trail have a rattlesnake on it.
